A 2-1 victory over Sheffield United gave Manchester United their second straight Premier League victory.

Scott McTominay and Diogo Dalot scored the winning goals for United, who otherwise appeared lifeless and on the verge of another loss despite their 2-0 lead.

United held 63% of the ball while Sheffield United only managed 37%.

The team captained by Erik ten Hag only scored on five of their fourteen attempts. The opposition managed only 12 shots, but six of those were dangerously close to Andre Onana.

United completed 80% of their 545 pass attempts.

The Blades completed 67% of their 331 pass attempts.

Even though the Red Devils didn’t play particularly well, they still managed to stay in the game thanks to Harry Maguire.

The former club captain formed a strong relationship with Jonny Evans, which neutralized any threat provided by Sheffield United, particularly in the second half.

Maguire had 104 touches on the ball while he was on the field.

In addition, he had an 82% success rate in passing. The English international completed 76% of his passes (76 of 93) when trying to find open teammates.

Maguire made 17 attempts to ping the ball long. Thirteen times out of fourteen, the ball made it.

He was a terrifying aerial menace. The 30-year-old man triumphed in five of the seven aerial competitions he faced.

In addition, the central defender made three clearances and two blocks.Maguire seems to be slowly turning the turnaround after a difficult few years at Old Trafford. He reportedly came over to applaud the fans after the Sheffield United game and was serenaded by chants.Maybe things are looking up for Maguire and he may still persuade Erik ten Hag that he has a place on United’s roster.
