WXIX/Gray News, Cincinnati Over the weekend, the family of outfielder Jake Fraley of the Cincinnati Reds was blessed with some incredible news.

Avery Fraley, age five, is in remission, according to her mother Angelica Fraley, who shared the information on social media.

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia was Avery’s diagnosis during the Reds 2023 postseason run.

After Avery’s most recent bone marrow scan, Angelica Fraley posted on Instagram that no leukemia was found.

Angelica Fraley stated, “We still have a few months of frontline chemotherapy left, and we continue to ask y’all to pray she gets through that quick and easy.”

Avery’s diagnosis was discussed with the Fraley family by WXIX at the beginning of January.

Jake Fraley said that they were shocked to learn that their 5-year-old daughter had ᴄᴀɴᴄᴇʀ.

“It was really challenging,” he remarked. You simply cannot imagine it. While each person experiences extreme darkness in a different way, everyone experiences extreme darkness.

When the Fraley family revealed Avery’s ᴄᴀɴᴄᴇʀ diagnosis on Instagram, they did so with one key message and one word in mind.

That word was “purpose,” and the family used it as their main focus while supporting Avery in her fight against ᴄᴀɴᴄᴇʀ.
