6 Chelsea stars return for the big battle with Arsenal

Good news for Chelsea fans when The Blues welcomes the return of 6 stars after injury for the London derby with Arsenal on October 21 within round 9 of the 2023/24 Premier League.

First is news related to midfielder Wesley Fofana. Coach Mauricio Pochettino can get the services of the French player in the next match when he happily posted a clip on his personal Instagram. Thereby, Fofana announced his return after a serious knee injury earlier in the season.

This is the second long-term injury that the 22-year-old star has encountered since he joined the Stamford Bridge team for 70 million pounds in the summer of 2022. Fofana has missed more than the past 4 months and has not played a minute. under new coach Pochettino.

Fofana’s return is a great joy for Chelsea, in the context of the Blues’ defense devastated by injuries. In addition to Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Ben Chilwell and Trevoh Chalobah also became patients at “Stamford Bridge hospital”.

It is known that both Badiashile and Chalobah are about to return as the pair have trained with the whole team in recent weeks. Both did not feature in last weekend’s 4-1 win over Burnley, but will be hoping to return to Premier League action for the first time under Pochettino once the break ends and Chelsea host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

Striker Nkunku recovered quickly and hopes to return to the field soon

In addition, Cole Palmer and Mykhailo Mudryk are also preparing to return against Arsenal when the pair suffered minor injuries right before entering the international competition series of the national teams. Palmer was substituted late in the Burnley game after showing signs of mild cramps, but is expected to return in just over a week.

Meanwhile, Christopher Nkunku also showed signs of quick recovery, returning to practice and performing some simple movements. He was injured in early August , right before the new season, and had to miss nearly 4 months. Captain Reece James has also returned and can fully participate in the match against Arsenal if there are no last-minute problems.

However, defender Axel Disasi was dropped from the France squad for the matches against the Netherlands and Scotland after suffering a slight injury in the match against Burnley last weekend. Striker Nicolas Jackson also withdrew from the national team after wrist surgery and will miss a few weeks.

Thus, Fofana, Palmer, Mudryk, Badiashile, James and Chalobah can return in the big match against Chelsea on October 21.
