After the Chelsea star was forced to withdraw from the Villa clash, Mauricio Pochettino gave an update on Levi Colwill

In Friday night’s fourth round match versus Villa at Stamford Bridge, Colwill was expected to start at left back.

The England international, though, limped off during warm-up and never returned, so Pochettino rearranged the defense.

Axel Disasi moved inside to play center half, and Alfie Gilchrist was named to the starting lineup to replace him at right back. Benoit Badiashile was moved from his central position to the left side to replace Colwill.

They will meet again at Villa Park in the fourth round following a scoreless draw in west London.

“We don’t believe it is so bad,” Pochettino stated in his post-match press conference, providing an update on Colwill. He felt awkward over something minor. His ability to workout tomorrow or the day after is my hope.

Jurgen Klopp everyone on Friday morning by announcing his decision to resign as Liverpool manager at season’s end.

Pochettino paid tribute to Klopp, a German coach with whom he has had several clashes, including in the 2019 Champions League final.

I couldn’t believe it. News broke. It’s heartbreaking. It was his telegram that arrived first after we were fired from Tottenham. On Wednesday, I will thank him, but I have not yet sent him a message. We have to accept [his decision] even though we’ll miss him.His work with Liverpool is just remarkable. He needs to get away for a while and relax. I feel bad for football fans, but I think he deserves it.

English football and Liverpool will be sad to lose such a remarkable individual. “His first game against us [Spurs] at White Hart Lane was when he arrived,” Pochettino remarked.

Our score was 0-0. He leaves an enormous legacy. His coaching staff and I are very proud of them. From this point on until the season concludes, he will earn accolades that is well-deserved.
