A concept generator driven by artificial intelligence creates anticipation before Alfa’s official dream car announcement on August 31.
The automotive industry is not exempt from how quickly artificial intelligence is transforming and threatening established sectors.
Alfa Romeo has chosen to stay ahead of the curve with an unusual car design tool that has already produced some astounding results, despite the ongoing criticism surrounding AI-generated graphics.
In fact, the editorial team at carsales contributed to the creation of every car you see on this page. One of them even expressed initial disapproval, saying, “This sounds like ego-driven, social media-powered PR drivel,” but was ultimately delighted with the outcome.
The technology, known as Alfa Romeo AI, is currently on display for everyone to see at a website that poses the query: is it possible for artificial intelligence to predict the world’s most beautiful car?
The response is’maybe’.
To create their own automotive AI art, anyone can visit the website or utilize Instagram instructions. The goal is to create a buzz before the world unveils Alfa Romeo’s next “dream car,” which will debut at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Italy on August 31.
Road test editor Scott Newman sculpted this concept car; AI generated the image.
“The car’s specifications are kept so secret that only a few people are aware of its appearance. Therefore, Alfa Romeo claims, “We’re giving people the power to fantasize—and allowing fans estimate what its new dream car would look like using AI—because we can’t reveal the automobile to Australia.
The new Alfa concept car’s impact on upcoming production vehicles, its modern or retro design, and its potential to hint at the brand’s upcoming supercar—which Alfa Romeo design chief Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos confirmed—as well as its rumored inspiration—the sultry 1967 Alfa 33 Stradale—remain unclear.
Which members of the carsales team will be accurate?
Senior editor Feann Torr chose an aggressive, videogame-inspired muscle car with matte-ochre yellow paint work, while carsales staff journalist Alexandra Lawrence developed a stunning convertible with traditional design influences with a little assistance from generative AI.

Marton Pettendy, the managing editor, created a futuristic, gull-winged piece of automotive art that shows off how creative the generative AI powering the concept automobile can be.

Editor-in-Chief Mike Sinclair chose a more traditional four-door Alfa Romeo supercar (presumably to accommodate his dog), while consumer editor Nadine Armstrong’s concept design carries over elements of the Alfa Romeo 8C and 4C mid-engine models.
Perhaps the most striking of them all is the concept automobile designed by road test editor Scott Newman, with its low, sleek, and muscular stance supported by well placed curves.
