An award nomination for the fantastic Chelsea player demonstrates why Mauricio Pochettino kept him

Levi Colwill, a young defender for Chelsea, has been recognized for his outstanding growth over the past year by being named to the list of 25 finalists for the Golden Boy award.

Even though it’s obvious who will win this year’s Golden Boy award for Europe’s finest player under the age of 21, Levi Colwill has done exceptionally well to even be considered.

It was just last season that he made his debut in a major European league, with Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 20-year-old center back is currently enjoying his second season in the Premier League, this time with Chelsea. The aforementioned demonstrates why Mauricio Pochettino was correct to maintain hold of the player and give him a legitimate shot at the first team.

Although left back is not Colwill’s natural position, he has started all eight Premier League games the Blues have played this season at that spot.

Even аt this eаrly stаge оf his Chelseа cаreer, he is demоnstrаting the kind оf аdаptаbility thаt cаn оnly help his bоss during the current injury crisis аt Stаmfоrd Bridge.

Colwill’s greatest strength, though, is

“I got a lot of praise from Paulo [Ferreira] for how composed I am, my passing, how I can step in and break the press,” Colwill said to The Athletic in 2016.

Pochettino hailed Colwill as a “fantastic talent” upon his return to Chelsea. The defender has proven himself worthy of his coach’s confidence, and it is easy to understand why.

Although Colwill did not make his Premier League debut until last season, just being nominated for the Golden Boy award is a huge accomplishment for the Chelsea academy product.
