As the Blues’ management considers proposals for Armando Broja, a striker, and Aston Villa youth player Jhon Duran are both on the radar

Jhon Duran, a striker for Aston Villa, is still attracting interest from Chelsea.

As Chelsea evaluates proposals for Armando Broja, they had already spoken about Duran’s suitability.

Because Villa wants to make sure they have forward backup, they have previously turned down an offer from West Ham for Duran this month.

It is believed that Villa will keep in touch with Middlesbrough over Morgan Rogers, and if everything goes well, they may look into offers for Duran.

Duran is still with Unai Emery’s squad as they try to maintain their push for a playoff position. ;

Rivals have wasted no time snooping on 20-year-old Duran, who has scored four goals this season (two of which came in the Premier League).

Last January, Villa paid £18 million to transfer the Colombian forward from Chicago Fire.

Despite Duran having played in 35 games for Villa this season, securing regular playing time has proven to be a challenge for Chelsea.

While Nicolas Jackson was gone at the Africa Cup of Nations, Christopher Nkunku and Armando Broja both battled injuries, making the striker position a concern for Chelsea this season.

It seems that Duran’s future is hinged on Villa’s open pursuit of Middlesbrough’s Rogers, who scored in Tuesday’s 6-1 Carabao Cup semi-final second leg loss to Chelsea.

After having their first two bids for Rogers rejected by the Championship club, Villa made a stronger bid for him earlier this week.

If the 21-year-old, who cost Boro £1 million in the summer, departs, Manchester City will receive a sell-on money.

Icelandic goalkeeper Hakon Valdimarsson, who plays for Elfsborg in Sweden’s top division, has also been approached by Villa.

This is a top Premier League club, and they play really well,’ Valdimarsson, 22, added. Their interest is much appreciated. This proves that I was a solid performer last year.
