Recently, JACK GREALISH met one of his childhood idols in person.
The legendary Juan Pablo Angel of Aston Villa, a six-year Premier League player, posed for a photo with the Manchester City player.
“My first ever hero,” wrote Grealish in a comment on the Instagram photo.
“Knowing is knowing. Juan Pablo Angel is a singular individual.
Fans were taken aback when the two celebrities seemed to meet at City’s training field.
Angel has dramatically changed his appearance from his Villa days.
He now has a short hairstyle instead of his trademark headband and lengthy hair.
He has grown a beard as well.
Grealish interviewed the legendary Aston Villa player for a YouTube video in 2019, which is when he first met him.
“I remember watching you as a kid; you were obviously my favorite player, scoring all the goals,” the England star remarked.
“I’ve never had the chance to meet you before, so it’s a pleasure.”
Angel, who is now 47, moved from River Plate to Aston Villa for a then-club-record £9.5 million.
During his six-year tenure, he made 205 appearances for the Villans, tallying 10 assists and 62 goals.
In order to join the New York Red Bulls, the striker left the team in 2007.
After that, he played for Atletico Nacional, the LA Galaxy, and Chivas USA until retiring in 2014.
