Jude Bellingham, a star for Real Madrid, is having a great season with his new squad. On Tuesday, he elevated his team’s performance to a 3-2 victory in the UEFA Champions League Group Stage against Napoli, Italy.
In the thirty-fourth minute, Bellingham’s spectacular solo show of dribbling and goal-scoring tied Real Madrid and Napoli at one. After receiving a pass just over the midfield line, the 20-year-old midfielder dashed toward the Napoli goal, dribbling past four opponents in the 18-yard box before finishing past goalie Alex Meret in the upper right corner of the net.
Jude Bellingham scored his team’s first goal against Union Berlin, and this is his second Champions League goal overall.
Bellingham joined the La Liga powerhouses this summer after leaving Germany’s Borussia Dortmund for a whopping €103 million transfer price. For Los Blancos, though, the decision has proven successful thus far. Bellingham has eight goals in his first nine Real Madrid games across all competitions, including the Champions League goal and six more in his first seven La Liga games.
In the 2023–24 season, Real Madrid hopes to add to their record-tying 14 Champion League trophies. In their first game, the team defeated Union Berlin 1-0; against Napoli, they held on until the very end. With two games remaining against the Portuguese team Braga and one remaining against each of these rivals, the Spanish squad is now leading Group C.
The next game for Jude Bellingham and Real Madrid is against Osasuna on Saturday.
