Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea are eyeing ‘top talent’ ahead of possible move
This might be the last solution to Chelsea’s issue.
Chelsea spent a lot of money during the summer transfer window once more, but under Mauricio Pochettino, the team had mixed results. The Blues have shown promise, but it is unclear if they can play consistently. This season, they have lost to Brentford and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, while they have defeated Tottenham Hotspur and drawn a point from Manchester City and Arsenal.
Even though Stamford Bridge has added a number of players in a significant overhaul, their inability to find a consistent source of goals has plagued them throughout the season. Despite scoring eight goals in their last two league games, the club may still go back out to sign a single Premier League forward in the future.
Chelsea transfer news
Even though Pochettino’s team struggles to sustain results in the long run, Chelsea has evidently placed a strong emphasis on recruiting for the future when it comes to signings. Todd Boehly may believe that, in order to reclaim his place among Europe’s top teams in a few years, it is just worthwhile to make some sacrifices. Although it’s a bold move, it might yet out to be beneficial. Given that the American owner is probably going to enter the market again, Chelsea may be able to add another promising young player.
Journalist Pete O’Rouke recently suggested that the Blues were considering making a deal for Evan Ferguson of Brighton, and Fabrizio Romano has now stated that Chelsea is tracking the forward in anticipation of a potential move. In his most recent Caught Offside daily briefing, Romano stated:
“Evan Ferguson of Brighton is frequently linked to teams like Chelsea and Manchester United. Ferguson is a high talent, so I can attest that large teams like these are keeping an eye on him. This is just standard scouting and monitoring, though; it would be shocking if they weren’t!
But at this time, there isn’t anything more substantial to report. Ferguson is entirely focused on Brighton because he just recently signed a new contract with them. He’s reportedly quite content at Brighton and believes it’s the greatest environment for him to grow right now, as so many other elite young players have recently shown us.
“Links will undoubtedly continue to appear everywhere, but nothing will be decided just yet.”
“Top talent” Ferguson could break Chelsea’s striker curse
It goes without saying that Chelsea has struggled mightily over the years to find strikers. Aside from Didier Drogba and Diego Costa, it’s getting harder to name a player that led the line clinically every time at Stamford Bridge since the number nine shirt curse has taken the lives of many managers. But Ferguson might be the one to break that curse for good.
The Brighton player, who is only 19 years old, is already making an impact in the Premier League. In just 11 games this season, he has five goals. The Irishman, who seems to be improving with every game under Robert de Zerbi at Brighton, seems to be heading for a major move, possibly to Stamford Bridge.
