Chelsea ‘consider’ Andrey Santos recall from Nottingham Forest — report
Andrey Santos, a youthful midfielder for Chelsea who joined the team after helping Vasco Da Gama win promotion in 2022, had done little more than shine during the majority of 2022 and 2023.
After that, he would sign a loan to return to Vasco and continue to play a key role for Brazil’s U20 national team, leading them to victory in the U20 South American Championships and earning the tournament’s most goals.
Santos then officially joined Chelsea in the summer and kept up his impressive preseason form before going on loan to Nottingham Forest, a newly promoted Premier League team. However, there, his upward trajectory has abruptly stopped.
Santos has played in just one (1) League Cup game, a 1-0 loss to Burnley, and one (1) Premier League appearance, lasting roughly seven (7) minutes. Santos has also only made one start overall. Santos’s chances of getting playing time haven’t improved, despite a few guarantees from the Forest hierarchy, and they don’t seem to be getting any better anytime soon.
Thus, the Evening Standard reports that Chelsea is “considering” a recall for the teenager in January, which is probably the most apparent of transfer rumors.
This is undoubtedly an easy choice to make, and the sooner the better.
