Striker Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea Club have reached an agreement on his price next summer. This allows Roma to start planning to buy the Belgian star outright.

 

In the final days of the 2023 Summer transfer window, Romelu Lukaku made a move to Roma, signing a contract with the club. The deal was a loan agreement without a buyout clause.

Under the guidance of manager Jose Mourinho, the Belgian striker has been in exceptional form since the start of the season. He has already netted 9 goals in 14 appearances across Serie A and the Europa League. Lukaku’s impressive performances extended to the Belgian national team, where he recently scored four goals in a 5-1 victory over Azerbaijan, setting new records in the process.

Despite Lukaku’s success, Chelsea doesn’t appear inclined to utilize his services and is reportedly looking to sell him in the upcoming 2024 summer transfer window. According to information from Daniele Longo, a journalist at Calciomercato.com, Chelsea has agreed to a transfer fee of 38 million euros for Lukaku.

Roma, on the other hand, is eager to secure Lukaku on a permanent basis beyond the current season. Tiago Pinto, the club’s director of football, has been actively seeking a solution in recent weeks, aiming to negotiate a favorable deal and secure a discount on the transfer fee.

With Chelsea’s offer now known, it is expected that numerous other clubs will express their interest in acquiring Lukaku’s services. A fierce competition is anticipated among potential suitors for the talented Belgian star.
