Chelsea targets Feyenoord striker to replace ‘wooden leg’ Nicolas Jackson

Chelsea will most likely sign Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez for £39 million to replace Nicolas Jackson.

After Chelsea’s 0-2 loss to Brentford at Stamford Bridge last weekend, many people, especially Chelsea fans, are doubting the performance of key striker Nicolas Jackson. It is important to know that the Blues currently have only one win in the last 13 matches at home at Stamford Bridge.

This is an alarming number for the London team. Former Premier League player Peter Crouch even publicly criticized Jackson for not being qualified to lead the Blues’ attack.

“Nicolas Jackson will not be a long-term solution. He does a lot of great work outside the box, but can he score you 15-20 goals? I don’t think so,” Crouch emphasized.

In that context, Chelsea is making urgent moves to sign Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez. The Mexican striker has been on the Blues’ radar for a long time. The 22-year-old striker has scored 13 goals in 10 appearances in the Dutch National Championship this season for Feyenoord.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea can sign Gimenez for a reasonable fee of 39 million pounds. This is considered a bargain price compared to the sky-high valuations of other targets that Chelsea is interested in, such as Ivan Toney or Europe’s most sought-after striker, Victor Osimhen.
