Winger Mykhailo Mudryk made Chelsea fans happy with a brilliant performance against Malta in the Ukraine shirt, including a goal from a beautiful solo effort.
In the 85th minute, when Ukraine was leading Malta 2-1, Mudryk had the ball on the left wing. He was closely followed by defender Cain Attard, but thanks to his speed, the Chelsea star quickly rose up. Mudryk then “steering” into the middle, dribbled the ball a few more times and then kicked with his right foot like a hammer into Malta’s net.
It was a masterpiece from Mudryk, and it showed many of the player’s qualities, including his speed, passing ability and finishing skills. Unfortunately, all of that has not been shown at Chelsea since he joined the Blues for 70 million euros in January. However, this is nonetheless a signal for Mudryk’s potential explosion at Chelsea.
In fact, besides the beautiful goal against Malta, Mudryk also stood out throughout the match with skillful, speedy and mischievous handling of situations. He was the one who earned an 11-meter kick for Ukraine that Artem Dovbyk successfully converted.
The 3-1 victory over Malta helped Ukraine climb to second place in Group C of the EURO 2024 qualifying round with 13 points, 10 points more than third-place team Italy. The opportunity for Ukraine to win a direct ticket to Germany next summer is becoming very bright. In the final match, Ukraine will fight Italy.
