Left-back Ben Chilwell faces a potential two-month absence due to a hamstring injury sustained during a Carabao Cup clash with Brighton last week, following a tackle from Billy Gilmour. Chilwell has now shared his frustrations regarding this recent setback.
“Can’t catch a break. Believe me, I am more frustrated than you guys,” he conveyed on his Instagram story. “All I can do now is help the team as best as I can from the sidelines until I can get back to giving everything for the club on the pitch again.
Ups and downs, but that’s life. Just focused on getting this club back where it deserves to be. Thank you as always for the love, Chelsea fans,” he added.
Chilwell has a history of hamstring injuries, including a significant one in the previous season that forced him to miss the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar. Unfortunately, the most recent injury appears to be more severe than initially feared.
In Chilwell’s absence, Marc Cucurella may step in as the left-back option, while Levi Colwill remains another possibility for Chelsea ahead of their upcoming Premier League clash against Burnley on Saturday.
