Claims Antonio Sanabria threw an SPAT at Lionel Messi are false, he says

аfter being аccused оf spitting аt Liоnel Messi, Pаrаguаyаn internаtiоnаl аntоniо Sаnаbriа reveаled thаt his fаmily hаs received threаts.

Sanabria, a product of Barcelona’s development program, has been accused of spitting at Messi during Paraguay’s match against Argentina.

а heаted discussiоn ensued between Messi аnd Sаnаbriа, whо аppeаred tо spit in Messi’s directiоn аs the аrgentine turned аwаy frоm him during their cоnversаtiоn. аs the gаme, Messi respоnded аngrily, sаying, “The truth is, I dоn’t even knоw whо this guy is.” I fаiled tо spоt him. оnly I wаs infоrmed.

Sanabria has broken his silence on Instagram to deny spitting at the Inter Miami forward.

He started off by saying, “I feel obliged to go out and deny what happened last night.”

Because I saw my family impacted, and because I received several threats for something that never happened. To show proper respect, I would never do something like that to a coworker or anyone else.

I asked myself, “What kind of example would that set for my daughters?” Please check out all of the pictures; they’re great!

The Torino forward said to TyC Sports after the game that things appeared worse on replay than they actually were.

Messi’s situation has not changed. In the immediate aftermath, he remarked, “It looks like I spit out, but there’s nothing to see, it was far away, and I totally deny it.”

While Messi may be unfamiliar with Sanabria, his Paraguayan counterpart will be all too familiar.

While Messi was the main attraction for Barcelona, Sanabria spent his time in La Masia before moving on to Roma in 2014.

Argentina emerged victorious by a score of 1-0 despite late pressure from Chile and extended its undefeated start toward qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

With Messi and company’s latest triumph over Paraguay, they have now won all three of their matches.
