Cristiano Ronaldo had a ‘wrestling’ moment with a rival during an intense clash in Saudi Arabia

Although Cristiano Ronaldo is often considered one of the greatest footballers of all time, that didn’t deter Jack Hendry, the former Celtic and Dundee player, from getting physical with the Al-Nassr striker.

Both players are part of the Saudi Arabian football scene this year, and coincidentally, WWE’s ‘Crown Jewel’ pay-per-view event was happening in Riyadh during the same weekend. The footballers decided to get into the spirit of things a few days early, engaging in a touchline tussle during their King Cup of Champions match on Tuesday.

Their dispute revolved around possession of a ball that had already gone out of play. Hendry, who plays for Steven Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq, made a brilliant slide tackle to thwart the Portuguese striker and clear the danger for a throw-in.

As he got back on his feet, he even lifted Ronaldo onto his shoulders and tried to grab hold of him, not once but twice. However, the agile forward managed to evade his grasp, and Hendry, unfazed by the wrestling moment, continued playing on.
