Fans have blasted CRISTIANO RONALDO after his social media post following Lionel Messi’s Ballon d’Or triumph last night.
Messi won a record eighth Ballon d’Or Friday evening in Paris, while Ronaldo was not nominated for the first time in 20 years.

Over the years, the pair have had a long-standing rivalry as they competed for the title of best player in the world.
But Messi’s eighth Ballon d’Or title now puts him three prizes ahead of Ronaldo’s five and, in many people’s eyes, puts the issue to rest.
Some supporters believe the Portuguese superstar is hurting himself by falling further behind his competitors.
Following the awards event in Paris, Spanish journalist Tomás Roncero provided a video commentary.
“Hello, friends,” he said. What we knew was that they were going to award Messi another Ballon d’Or.
“He went to retire in Miami, despite the fact that he appeared to be retired at PSG while preparing for the World Cup.” Yes, he won the World Cup, but on six penalties… It’s November, ten months after the World Cup.
“Messi has eight Ballon d’Or, but he only deserved five.” He has the Ballon d’Or of [Andres] Iniesta/Xavi, [Robert] Lewandowski, who won six titles in one season, and [Erling] Haaland, who was the highest scorer.”
Ronaldo then left four laughing emojis beneath the post after commenting on the caustic video on Instagram.
Although it is unclear what the Al-Nassr star meant by his statement, many fans believe he is upset because Messi won another Ballon d’Or.

“Actually, I can’t believe how embarrassing this behavior is. How has he not just accepted the debate is over?” one fan wrote on social media.
“How shameless can this guy be?” said another.
“Ronaldo is so childish; this is some people’s goat,” said a third. This guy was deeply offended by Messi’s Ballon d’Or.”
Messi of Inter Miami won the individual award ahead of Erling Haaland of Sweden.
While Kylian Mbappe was the third-placed nominee, Man City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri were fourth and fifth.
