Now that he is available for selection once more, Antony will make his way back to Manchester United’s Carrington training complex on Saturday.
The 23-year-old’s leave of absence was officially terminated on Friday morning by United, following his voluntary attendance at a Greater Manchester Police interview on Thursday afternoon.
Authorities in Brazil and England are looking into claims made by Antony’s former partner Gabriela Cavallin that he mistreated her. The claims are refuted by Antony.
Given that Antony has not been taken into custody, charged, or arrested, United has chosen to consider him open for selection once more.
Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, stated, “We make the statement, so I refer to the statement.” “The statement makes everything extremely apparent. No, [Antony’s homecoming] is not a distraction, in my opinion. We’ll concentrate on the games. He’ll perform okay too. I’ll make reference to the statement since I believe we explained it there.
“He’s going to be back in training tomorrow, which is Saturday. I’ll have to check, but I believe [he’s fit].
“Since allegations were first made in June, Antony has cooperated with police inquiries in both Brazil and the UK, and he continues to do so,” United stated in a statement made public on Friday morning.
Manchester United, Antony’s employer, has determined that he will return to training at Carrington and be available for selection as police investigations continue. This will be reviewed in light of any new case developments.
“As a club, we denounce acts of abuse and violence. We understand how critical it is to protect everyone concerned in this case and the effect these claims have on abuse survivors.
Antony might be added back to the United team for Tuesday’s Champions League group-stage encounter at Old Trafford against Galatasaray.
