Speaking with MyBettingSites, former defender Paul Parker shared his thoughts on Manchester United’s defense.

 

In Paul Parker’s view, Sergio Reguilón is entirely capable of assuming the starting role as the left-back for Manchester United. He believes that Coach Erik ten Hag may utilize Luke Shaw as a central defender when he returns from injury.

The former English player remarked, “I think fans will see Reguilón’s dynamism, and he’s also very unpredictable. Of course, Luke Shaw is injured, and having a left-footed player in that position is very important.”

 

Parker continued, “I think there is a possibility that Reguilón will secure the starting spot, and then Erik ten Hag can deploy Luke Shaw in the left-sided center-back position.”

 

“When Dalot plays on the left wing, Manchester United does not have any player who can stick to the edge in this corridor because Rashford is also right-footed. So, Reguilón will have a great chance to take that position.”

 

“I think Reguilón can be a very high-quality acquisition, and Manchester United also needs to upgrade in that position.”
