Erling Haaland is widely expected to become the first footballer to earn £1 billion through ‘beyond the physical’ revenue streams

ERLING HAALAND is expected to become the first footballer to earn a million pounds.

Rafaela Pimenta, the Manchester City star’s agent, has stated that he might earn money outside of his standard contract.

Haaland, 23, is already making an estimated £865,000 per week at the Etihad Stadium.

This includes his weekly pay as well as the large incentives he has received as a result of his goal-scoring prowess and tournament victories.

However, according to his agency, this is only the beginning of the striker’s prospective earnings.

Pimenta believes Haaland has the potential to become the first footballer to earn £1 billion from image rights.

“I’m not saying the transfer fee would reach that amount,” Pimenta told The Guardian. I’d like to discuss the overall package that you create over your career.

“Today, you can play until you’re 35 years old.” You must consider wages, transfer fees, television money, sponsors, ticket sales, and jerseys. With a player like Erling, that figure quickly approaches a billion.

“The video game industry generates significant profits. Maybe I’ll offer a digital Erling Haaland for €2,000 (£1,741) to 100 million individuals in India, China, Brazil, and Mexico in the metaverse.

“Perhaps one day we’ll be able to watch a football game through glasses and feel the same emotions as if I were there.”

“With the virtual experience, you actually go 3D. So perhaps we will sell the football experience not only to broadcasters, but also to folks who will never be able to purchase or locate a ticket to the Bernabeu or the Etihad.

“They can play the game as if they were there (in the metaverse).” So when I say a billion, I’m referring to multipliers that go beyond the tangible.”

Pimenta has also praised the striker’s “professionalism” and underlined that he has remained grounded.

“I like dealing with the Haalands because they expect professionalism and communicate clearly,” she continued.

“It makes no difference whether you are a guy or a woman. They pay attention to you. It’s quite refreshing.

“He’s amazing and has his feet on the ground. He is well aware of who he is and what he stands for. He is not delusory.

“I’ve never seen him go through the negative changes that fame and fortune bring.”

“He’s only 23, but he’s so mature, so deep, so calm… and he loves to eat!”

Haaland has already landed a number of lucrative advertising partnerships, making him one of the game’s most lucrative stars.
