Erling Haaland was eliminated from Euro 2024 without ever having to play

There will be no ERLING HAALAND participation at Euro 2024.

That comes after Norway, who didn’t play until Sunday, was eliminated from qualifying.

Norway will no longer be able to participate in the playoffs in the spring after Israel’s 2-1 loss to Romania.

Israel’s victory was necessary for Haaland’s team to maintain a qualifying route.

However, Romania’s victory secured their spot at Euro 2024 and put them atop Group I.

Switzerland’s 1-1 tie with Kosovo guaranteed them a spot in the tournament as well.

Thus, Israel and Bosnia from Group J now share the top two spots in the Path B playoffs.

The Norwegians would only have been able to go to the playoffs—where entry is determined by Nations League performance—had Israel advanced to the European Championship automatically ahead of Romania.

Haaland will find it difficult to accept Norway’s exit, since his nation still has a match against Scotland tomorrow night.

Despite earning a well-earned reputation as the greatest No. 9 in the world, the Manchester City Treble winner has yet to earn a spot in an international competition.

Haaland had previously declared that he would not be participating in the match due to an ankle injury.

“Unfortunately, I will not be playing against Scotland tomorrow,” Haaland stated.

“Best wishes to the boys. Currently undergoing treatment and attempting to recover quickly.”

“It’s the movement in his foot that is the problem, but it’s not a serious injury,” continued Stale Solbakken, the manager of Norway.

“I’m not sure if he would have been able to play in a final.

“All parties agree it is probably a little too early (for him to play) but it is not a career-threatening injury.”
