Exclusive: Fabrizio Romano discusses Lionel Messi’s trying final moments at PSG, calling it “not an easy moment.”

Expert in transfer news Fabrizio Romano has looked into what went wrong for Lionel Messi toward the end of his tenure at Paris Saint-Germain and offered some insight into the player’s current circumstances.

In his exclusive Daily Briefing column, Romano stated that Messi’s time at PSG was difficult following his ban due to an unauthorized travel to Saudi Arabia, something his former teammate Neymar may have hinted at in a recent interview.

Messi signed a free transfer from PSG to MLS powerhouse Inter Miami in the summer. He’s had a fantastic start to his career in the United States, but there have already been rumblings about a potential loan move from the team.

Despite what has been stated elsewhere, Romano claims that the Argentina international is not currently in discussions with anyone on this possibility.

“As reported yesterday, despite the many rumors and stories on the Lionel Messi situation following Inter Miami’s elimination from the playoffs, the truth at the moment is that there is nothing happening with a potential loan back to Barcelona,” Romano said, speaking about Messi’s future and the trying experience he had at the end of his PSG spell.

Messi isn’t in talks with any clubs at the moment; instead, he is only thinking about his next matches with Argentina. After that, it’s anticipated that Inter Miami will travel to Asia to play friendlies. Messi would then take a three- or four-week vacation before Inter Miami’s preseason began.

So, even though Inter Miami won’t have many competitive games in the upcoming months, Messi will still have plenty to keep him busy! To restate, no loan agreement has been made anywhere else, and no talks about a loan are ongoing with any other team.

“A few fans have also inquired about Messi’s departure from PSG; Neymar recently revealed in an interview that Messi and he didn’t have a happy ending to their time together.”

“Leo and PSG were obviously not on good terms after Messi’s incident, in which the club punished him following his vacation to Saudi Arabia, as you would understand. Messi has always been a professional, though, and PSG wanted to wrap things up nicely.

“There was nothing too serious about it; they simply decided to part ways because that was what was best for both of them in the end.”
