Chelsea are gearing up for a significant challenge as they face off against in-form Arsenal in a crucial Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino has faced his fair share of injury issues since taking charge at Stamford Bridge, and unfortunately, the situation hasn’t improved much. Christopher Nkunku, Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell, Romeo Lavia, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Trevor Chalobah will all be absent from the squad.

Nicholas Jackson and Reece James could potentially make an appearance, but their availability is not certain. In the event that James is unable to play, Malo Gusto is likely to return at right-back following his suspension.

Marcus Betenelli, Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Cole Palmer, and Armando Broja are all potential options, but last-minute decisions will have to be made regarding their involvement. Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez have also recently been involved in South American action, so their recovery time might not be sufficient for them to feature this weekend.

“We have a few players that we need to assess to see if they can be available tomorrow,” Pochettino stated. “They might be able to play, be on the bench, or possibly not be included in the squad.”

The international break couldn’t have come at a worse time for Pochettino, as he was just starting to establish a rhythm with his players. Now, he will be hoping that those who have travelled extensively across the globe can be relied upon, as he cannot afford any further setbacks at this critical juncture.
