Gloria James, LeBron’s Mother, ‘Nearly Brought to Tears’ While Observing Bronny’s Basketball Game

On Saturday, while watching his son Bronny play for the USC basketball team, LeBron James had an emotional moment with his mother, Gloria.

The 39-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star told his 52.8 million followers on X (formerly Twitter) about the touching moment.

LeBron wrote, “Crаzy man! “You know how incredible this is!” my mom, who is seated next to me, exclaimed. Seated here with my son, enjoying a television show featuring my grandson. I am filled with gratitude and appreciation.

According to the father of three, the incident “almost brought me to tears just now.”

On Saturday, Bronny, a 19-year-old USC player, played in a loss against Arizona State. He had seven points, four rebounds, and five assists.

At 8 wins and 11 losses, the Trojans are tied with the UCLA Bruins for the best record in the league. On January 27, they will face off against the Bruins in a game that will be played from Westwood to Downtown Los Angeles. Among Pac-12 teams, USC is presently ranked eleventh.

Just after Wednesday’s 127-110 Lakers victory against the Dallas Mavericks, LeBron James hurriedly exited Crypto.com Arena’s tunnel and informed Lauren Jones of The Sporting Tribune, “I have to go catch my son’s game real quick.”

In Wednesday’s game against the Arizona Wildcats, Bronny scored 11 points, dished out 6 assists, and blocked 1 shot, yet he and USC still lost.

After suffering a heart arrest in July, the freshman from USC sat out the first eight games of the current collegiate basketball season until he was cleared to play by doctors.

Surgical intervention was necessary when a subsequent diagnosis of “an anatomically and functionally significant congenital heart defect” was made.

Bronny, making his USC debut in December, came onto the court at the Galen Center to cheers from the crowd as he entered the contest against Long Beach State approximately thirteen minutes into the game.

As seen in a video posted by the official account of the USC me𝚗’s basketball team on X (formerly known as Twitter), LeBron was in the stands, filming the action on his phone.

After making his Trojans debut, Bronny thanked the doctors, nurses, and other medical staff that helped him get back on the court, as well as his teammates, coaches, and family.

He reportedly told the audience, “I just want to give appreciation to everyone who has helped me through this,” in a video that NBA reporter Malika Andrews posted online.

Bronny isn’t the only child LeBron and Savannah James have; they also have Bryce Maximus, 16, and Zhuri Nova, 9.

When USC Basketball invited Bronny to choose his dad as their “favorite player of all time” in October for a social media video, Bronny proudly answered. Bronny smiled and joked, sаying, “I’d probably sаy like…LeBron James or something like that,” after waiting a few beats to make his dad and supporters nervous.

The video, released on X (previously Twitter) by USC Basketball, shows Bronny’s teammates laughing in response to his question.

Reacting to the video, one viewer noted that the freshman’s voice “sounds exactly like” that of his famous father. “Dude, that sounds just like LeBron,” was the response.

One of the responders to the post said, “LBJ and Savannah — you are doing extremely well in the parent department.”.
