Following his puncҺ on Jusuf Nurkic during the Golden State Warriors’ game against the Phoenix Suns, forward Draymond Green faces an NBA suspension that may last indefinitely. Before the Clippers game, Steve Kerr addressed the matter and stressed that Green would benefit from the time off, which would allow him to work on himself.
Kerr made reference to Green’s prior transgressions, which included a fine from last October for hitting teammate Poole during practice and a five-game suspension this season for choking Timberwolves player Gobert.
Kerr’s comments
The group understands that in order for Green to grow personally, he must address his behavioral concerns and consider his actions.
Kerr stated, “I think the suspension makes sense.”
I see more at stake in this than just basketball. The goal is to assist Draymond. I believe it’s a chance for Draymond to take a step back and alter his strategy and style of living.
That’s not a simple task to complete. You don’t just sаy, “Okay, let’s play five games, and he’ll be fine,” with that.
“It’s not just about an outburst on the court-this is about his life.”This is about a person I love, someone I’ve known for ten years, and who I believe in because of his enthusiasm, dedication, devotion, and love for his friends, family, and teammates.
“Aiming to support that man. For it is that person who needs to change—the one who punched Jordan Poole last year, the one who took a reckless swipe at Jusuf, and the one who choked Rudy [Gobert]. And he is aware of that.
