Haaland and Odegaard are far away from EURO 2024

At home, Norway lost 0-1 to Spain, causing Haaland to face the risk of being a spectator at EURO 2024. From Glasgow in Scotland to Oslo in Norway is a very long distance. Like between two different planets in the case of the Spanish team.

In the first leg, Spain won 3-0 with 2 goals from Joselu scored after the 80th minute and Haaland was absent. De la Fuente called it a blessing for “La Roja”. Haaland returned in the decisive match at home, with Odegaard supporting behind, but not enough to make a difference.

Norway appeared miserable in the match where only victory would rekindle hopes of going to Germany. In a match where Spain hid the ball very well and controlled time (67%), the home team could do nothing despite having the most effective team of shooters in Europe. Haaland only had 18 touches of the ball, with 2 finishes and 1 accurate move. Odegaard, in the attacking role, had 1 shot out and could not create any chances.

Spain always wins the ball as quickly as possible thanks to Rodri’s midfield sweep. Meanwhile, Norway can only rely on Haaland – who is always chased alternately by Laporte or Le Normand whether he moves with or without the ball. The first two tickets of Group A belonged to Spain and Scotland. Haaland is at risk of once again being a spectator at a major event, after having to watch the 2022 World Cup on television.

Now, Haaland and the Norwegians can only pray to receive a play-off spot through the 2022-23 Nations League (only ranked 8th in League B, so still waiting for the results of other opponents in the qualifying round), so as not to Missed the German summer event.
