Harvey Elliott has expressed his admiration for Mo Salah and urged the Egyptian forward to stay at Liverpool for the “rest of his career.” Elliott, a boyhood Liverpool fan, sees Salah as one of the best players in the world and hopes to learn from him.
After Liverpool’s victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers, Elliott spoke to reporters, including the Liverpool Echo, about Salah: “Touch wood he doesn’t ever leave but, if he does go, then I want to be that person to learn from him and apply it in my game.
Hopefully, as I say, he doesn’t leave and he’s here for the rest of his career. I will do my best [to keep him] but to be just learning from him and in the same team as him is just a dream come true, as well as everyone else in the team.”
Liverpool reportedly rejected a £150 million offer from Al-Ittihad for Salah during the summer transfer window. Elliott praised Salah’s abilities, describing him as an “absolutely unbelievable player” with exceptional finishing and creative skills.
Elliott, who is also left-footed like Salah, is eager to learn from the Egyptian star. He mentioned that he tries to get as close as possible to Salah to pick up insights and improve his own game:
“He has eyes all over the place, and I do try and ask him, you know, I am close to him in that sense, so I do try and work as close to him as possible, to learn. Learning from the best, it’s exactly that.”
