Confirming what has been known for a while now, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Joao Cancelo is all set to complete his move from Manchester City to Barcelona.
The 29-year-old Portuguese international fell out of favour at Manchester City and spent the second half of the last season on loan at Bayern Munich.
Back at the Etihad, his exit was guaranteed this summer and Barcelona had been pushing hard with talks taking place over an extended period.
Here we go!
A breakthrough in negotiations was finally achieved earlier this month with Barcelona and Manchester City agreeing on a loan deal with a purchase option worth €25 million which will be activated on some objectives being met.
Despite everything being in place, the operation had stalled for a bit this past week owing to Barça and their Financial Fair Play situation.
But now, everything seems to be cleared and the two clubs are exchanging documents to be signed today, with Romano giving the operation his trademark “Here we go” seal.
In fact, Romano adds that Cancelo, who is currently in Portugal, is ready to fly to Barcelona tonight to finalise the loan transfer.
Gerard Romero further adds that the Portuguese international’s medical has been scheduled for tomorrow.

Cancelo’s arrival will be a huge boost for Barcelona who have had issues in the right-back position for a while now.
Only last night, the Blaugrana were all over the place defensively against Villarreal, with Sergi Roberto, who started at right-back, struggling big time. It even resulted in the club captain receiving a telling-off from manager Xavi.
Cancelo is a proven performer at the highest level and comes with an abundance of experience on the biggest stage, having played for clubs like Man City, Inter Milan, and Juventus, among others.
Having waited for a while for the operation to go through, Barcelona will finally close the book on the right-back’s signing soon.
