Ian Wright lauds Enzo Fernandez’s handling of the penalty shσσtout between Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling

In the first half at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea’s new summer addition, 21-year-old striker Matt Palmer, scored a penalty to put his team up 1-0.

After a heated exchange, Enzo Fernandez intervened to make sure Palmer, not Sterling, received the penalty.

Wright, a former striker for Arsenal, lauded Fernandez’s decision to go in and Sterling’s attitude afterward, when he joined in the team’s celebration alongside Palmer and the rest of Chelsea’s players.

After Raheem scored, he joined Palmer in his victory celebration.While Raheem first shown some signs of disappointment, the situation quickly resolved itself after Fernandez and another individual each made brief remarks.

They were awarded a penalty and the entire crowd went wild. Not to worry, it’s not a terrible thing.

‘It’s fantastic for Palmer, he’s the striker, he wants to score goals,’ former Netherlands international and current Chelsea player-manager Ruud Gullit remarked.

I appreciate that he is not hesitant to accept it. You want to hear things like that from your striker, so see that as a plus for him.
