Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has showered praise on James Ward-Prowse and Lucas Paqueta, hailing them as “super” players ahead of West Ham United’s visit to Anfield.
Klopp expressed his delight for David Moyes and the exciting project happening in Stratford. West Ham is set to face Liverpool on Sunday, aiming for a rare victory against the Reds. Klopp singled out the midfield duo as standout performers for the club.
Klopp stated, “So many extremely strong opponents, and West Ham are one of them. It’s a really exciting project, and I am really happy for David [Moyes]. Even with Declan Rice out, they look really good. Ward-Prowse was a super signing, and Paqueta is not a new signing but he is a super player.”
West Ham is eager to cause an upset and maintain their impressive start to the Premier League season. While they couldn’t disrupt Manchester City’s flawless start in their previous game, Moyes will hope his counter-attacking tactics can outmaneuver Klopp’s Liverpool.
Interestingly, Lucas Paqueta could have been on the opposing side against West Ham if his move to Manchester City had materialized. However, his transfer to the Etihad never came to fruition, and Klopp acknowledges why Pep Guardiola is an admirer of the Brazilian.
James Ward-Prowse has played a pivotal role in West Ham’s success since his arrival, contributing with five assists and two goals in all competitions this season.
