Lionel Messi’s arrival, League Cup glory, and renewed hope: Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham reflects on the club’s ‘amazing’ season

In an Instagram post, David Beckham recalled Inter Miami’s ‘amazing’ season, which included Lionel Messi.

Beckham, the owner of the Herons, pondered on the season his team had in 2023, as Inter Miami’s season is officially finished after failing to make the playoffs this year.

The ex-England international shared an Instagram video celebrating their League Cup success, Lionel Messi’s performances, and other highlights.

“Another season has come to an end for this magnificent football club… What a season it has been! I’d like to thank the players, the staff, and, of course, our incredible supporters, La Familia, for the incredible ride we’ve been on together. A vital chapter in our life that we can all be proud of We’ll be back next year… @intermiamicf vamos #FreedomToDream”

With Messi’s arrival came the Heron’s first-ever Leagues Cup title, as well as an impressive U.S. Open Cup run that ended in a loss to the Houston Dynamo in the final.

As the club prepares for a new era, Beckham and Miami have a lot to build on in 2023, with more than just Messi.

This offseason, the club will tour Asia before returning to camp in January.

Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz, as well as former Barcelona star Sergio Busquets, joined the two couples. Victoria posted images from their Miami get-together to her Instagram account with the message “Kisses from Miami.”

 

Messi and his family recently attended an Ed Sheeran performance in Miami. They later posed for a photo with the legendary musician, which received millions of likes.

The Argentina captain’s first season with Inter Miami ended last week when the club narrowly missed out on the MLS playoffs. The club will begin training for the following season in November when they will play two friendly matches in China.
