Liverpool extended their unbeaten streak and climbed to second place in the Premier League standings with a hard-fought 3-1 triumph over West Ham at Anfield.

The scoring began with Mohamed Salah’s penalty, giving Jurgen Klopp’s team an early lead. 

However, West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen managed to equalize before half-time.

The turning point came in the 60th minute when Darwin Nunez’s volley restored Liverpool’s advantage. 

Diogo Jota, coming off the bench, sealed the victory with a close-range effort late in the match.

Despite West Ham’s spirited display and numerous opportunities, they suffered their second consecutive defeat, with their previous loss coming against Manchester City. As a result, they now sit in seventh place in the league standings.

Liverpool’s fifth consecutive Premier League win solidifies their strong start to the season, keeping them just two points behind league leaders Manchester City.

In their upcoming fixtures, Liverpool will face Leicester in the Carabao Cup second round on Wednesday and then visit Tottenham on Saturday. Meanwhile, West Ham will take on Lincoln in the Carabao Cup second round on Wednesday before hosting Sheffield United in the Premier League on Saturday.
