A first baseman for the Cincinnati Reds has produced a strong play away from home base.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Joey Votto invested $10.5 million to purchase a new residence on Hermosa Beach’s Strand.
The contemporary home is 3,800 square feet in size and has three levels, five bedrooms, and five bathrooms. A media room and a modern deck with a view of the ocean are also included.
Marketing materials list four refrigerators, four fireplaces, three dishwashers, an elevator, and a 120-bottle wine wall among the amenities.
In May 2018, the property was put up for sale with a $13.2 million asking price.

Votto joined the Reds in 2007 as a player. In 2012, he inked the largest-ever 12-year contract for the sports organization, for $251.5 million.
There are other professional athletes who share the baseball player’s affection for the South Bay. The old residence of retired Los Angeles Clippers player Danny Manning became up for sale in September 2017 for $21 million.
