The victory over the Rockets in Houston wasn’t enough to break the Warriors’ losing streak. After a promising start on Monday, they lost their eighth game in a row against the Pheonix Suns on Wednesday, putting a damper on any hopes for a rebound.
Steph Curry’s return has undoubtedly improved the team’s performance, regardless of the outcome. This is fantastic news for the NBA’s social media manager as well, since she has been posting a lot of content featuring Steph Curry recently.
Stunning footage of the Warriors player shaking hands with his daughter Ryan went viral on Monday. The handshake was both impressive and intricate.
Two days after that, before the Suns’ loss, the NBA’s official X account shared another cute video of Curry congratulating his family. There has been an overwhelming response to the touching video, with hundreds of thousands of people like and commenting on it online.
“Curry fam makes your heart melt,” one person said. “The Curry family’s pregame moments in Phoenix are heartwarming!” another person commented. Remarks such as “Beautiful family, boy is a replica of his dad” were common.
Steph Curry, Warriors survive fiesty Victor Wembanyama and his Spurs in NBA Cup
In Friday night’s In-Season Tournament game, the Golden State Warriors defeated the San Antonio Spurs, who were struggling, 118–112. Stephen Curry had a career-high 35 points, tied a personal best with seven 3-pointers, and added six assists.
With 21 seconds remaining, the Spurs were within 111-109 thanks to a 3-pointer by Cedi Osman. However, the game was ultimately decided by four free throws by Curry and two by Klay Thompson. Thompson had 15 points and six assists, and bench player Dario Saric had 20 points, four 3-pointers, and seven rebounds.
Despite losing their second game in a row, Golden State is still in the in-season tournament with a shot at advancing from Group C.
First choice San Antonio lost their eleventh game in a row despite Wembanyama’s 22 points and eight boards. However, he was 1-for-6 from beyond the arc. He scored five points in a row, including a 3-pointer, to help the Spurs take an 11-4 lead.
Midway through the second quarter, the 7-foot-3 rookie attempted a beautiful around-the-waist move to drive to the basket. However, his shot was rejected by the jumping Gary Patyon II, who was over a foot shorter.
The final game of Draymond Green’s suspension
San Antonio went 0-4, losing in group play despite 24 points from Devin Vassell and 22 points and 12 rebounds from Keldon Johnson. As a team, the Warriors own a 7–9 series record versus the Spurs, including five consecutive victories.
After serving the last game of his five-game ban for choking Rudy Gobert, Draymond Green has been preparing to return to action on Tuesday against Sacramento—a team that, had the Warriors lost on Friday, would have guaranteed a trip to the quarterfinals—by working out with the training staff.
“Hopefully he’ll be ready to play a lot of minutes,” coach Steve Kerr stated.
The Jim Barnett Media Center, named after the former player and announcer of the Golden State Warriors, was unveiled by the franchise.
“I can’t believe I’m still here to witness everything,” Barnett exclaimed.
Sunday, the Spurs will travel to Denver.
On Tuesday, in the last game of Group C play, the Warriors will travel to face the Kings.
