Only Arsenal, in David Silva’s opinion, can put up a fight against Manchester City for the Premier League championship this year.

Last season, Mikel Arteta’s team forced a two-horse race for the title with Man City, but losing momentum in the closing stages led Arsenal to only finish in second position, which was less than half the blue. Manchester Five points. 

MU finished third last season, but they got off to a rough start this year, losing two of their first four games. Despite finishing fourth last year, Newcastle United had a terrible start to the current campaign, losing three of the first four games. 

 

After 4 games, Arsenal is unbeaten, with 3 victories and 1 tie. They are trailing Man City, the only team with a victory after the first four rounds, by 10 points together with Liverpool. Only Arsenal, in David Silva’s opinion, can compete with Man City for the Premier League championship this year. Silva remarked to The Mirror:

Man City is a fantastic squad with some outstanding players. Pep is in his eighth season with Man City. He has made Man City into a winning machine after spending a lot of time in the Premier League. The only team I see with a chance to compete with Man City this year is Arsenal. What’s left? I doubt they are capable.

“I watched practically all of Man City’s Champions League games last season. While I wasn’t there, I wasn’t able to help the team win the championship, but I’m really delighted for the club that they were able to do so at this point. They are due it. The team deserves it, and the supporters should enjoy a full season with three victories. It is a remarkable accomplishment.
