Kyle Walker, a defender for Manchester City, and his England colleagues resumed full training on Thursday.
Following his absence from workouts earlier this week, Kyle Walker has resumed full training for England.
During the most recent international break, Walker was called up to the England team for a friendly match against Australia and a qualification for Euro 2024 against Italy. When the Manchester City defender skipped a whole training session earlier this week, along with the rest of his Three Lions teammates, there was cause for concern regarding his health.
Walker, however, held a private practice inside away from the other players, raising concerns that he may have suffered a knock and might have to withdraw from the team, similar to Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka.
The official England account on X, formerly Twitter, shared pictures from the training session on Tuesday. The caption said, “24 #ThreeLions players have been out at training at St. George’s Park today, with @kylewalker2 working indoors.”
Walker played the whole ninety minutes of Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Arsenal for City, and there had been no indication that he had been injured. Walker returned to outside training with the rest of the team on Thursday afternoon, perhaps allaying concerns about a problem.
Walker is seen in a video from the session warming up with some cardio and stretches before moving on to more strenuous activity.
Walker is most likely going to be considered for Friday’s Wembley match against Australia.
Walker has had a busy week. Following the Arsenal game, he addressed Nicolas Jover, his former teammate who is currently the set-piece coach at the club. The Manchester Evening News is aware that Jover’s refusal to shake hands with City players following their two-league victory over Arsenal last season caused them some disappointment. Walker was observed receiving support from Erling Haaland, and they had to be kept apart from the Gunners coach.
