Following a somewhat disappointing 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, the Red Devils’ players decided to head to the Juniper Café in Hale Village, Cheshire, for a relaxing breakfast. While at the café, they had an unexpected encounter with their teammate, Anthony Elanga, who was there with two friends.
With laughter all around, Elanga took a snapshot of the two football stars with one of his friends, while another friend joined in the fun. De Gea and Fernandes were dressed for the chilly weather, donning black coats and sweaters. Elanga, on the other hand, sported a light green hoodie with a stylish white design down the arms.
In the first half of the match at Selhurst Park, De Gea made a remarkable save that could be considered one of the season’s best. This set the stage for Cristiano Eriksen to set up Fernandes, who didn’t take long to net the opening goal. However, just before the game concluded, a stunning free kick by Michael Olise struck the post and resulted in a tie.
This season, Elanga has had fewer opportunities compared to his teammates. The 20-year-old’s most recent appearance was against Charlton in the Carabao Cup. He is expected to stay on the bench for Sunday’s match against Arsenal. United’s star player, Casemiro, won’t be available for the game due to a yellow card he received at Selhurst Park.
The French national team will play in the FA Cup final in June after beating Brighton in an exciting penalty shootout at Wembley. Mitoma has had a superb season at Brighton since Roberto De Zerbi placed him in the starting lineup. He has scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in 31 games.
Despite some challenges against the Premier League’s top full-backs, Mitoma struggled against Wan-Bissaka on Sunday night. During the game, the former Crystal Palace starlet made several crucial tackles on Mitoma. Rio Ferdinand praised Wan-Bissaka’s performance, stating that “he’s as good as anyone” in one-on-one situations.
Wan-Bissaka began the season out of favor with coach Ten Hag and was also injured and ill. Diogo Dalot took over as the right-back, but after the World Cup, he lost his form, and the Londoner has been a regular in the starting lineup. On Sunday, Dalot moved to the left-back position.
Wan-Bissaka’s current contract ends in the summer of 2024, but he has the option to extend for another year. The right-back would like to stay for another year. Wan-Bissaka told the Daily Telegraph, “My plan has always been to stay, but when I was out of the team, my goal was just to play. Everyone loves to play, and it makes me happy.”
“At that time, I would have done anything to get back to playing.”
“I’m happy here, and I’ve been happy ever since I started working here. That’s what I worked for, and that’s what I’ll keep working for.”
