Marc Cucurella explains how Chelsea beat Burnley and what they did differently to other games

Chelsea’s spirits are soaring within the team following three consecutive victories, bringing a refreshing change after a challenging start to the season.

Despite performing well and feeling deserving of better outcomes, Chelsea endured a frustrating phase in the initial six matches, failing to secure the desired results. As we all know, in football, the ultimate measure of success lies in the result of a match, and Chelsea had fallen short in that regard.

Nonetheless, the tide has turned in the past three games, and a sense of confidence is permeating through this group of new players under the guidance of their manager, Mauricio Pochettino.

The Blues showcased their dominance by thrashing Burnley 4-1 over the weekend, and defender Marc Cucurella shared his thoughts on the game and how they managed to secure the win, particularly after falling behind, a situation they struggled with in previous matches this season.

Speaking to the Chelsea website, Cucurella stated, “We scored early in the second half and then took control of the game. It’s a significant victory for us because we had confidence and found the back of the net multiple times.”

“In other games, perhaps we lost confidence when conceding, but today we stuck to the game plan, continued to build our momentum, and fought relentlessly. The team’s confidence has improved after securing two consecutive wins.”

“Today, we may have been fortunate with the first goal, a stroke of luck we hadn’t enjoyed in previous games. Nevertheless, we persisted. We believe in ourselves, our strategy, and we have secured three crucial points.”
