Mason Greenwood ‘stops for Burger King’ despite Getafe coach’s prohibition on fast food

Mason Greenwood, a loan star for Getafe, may hear some harsh words from manager Jose Bordalas for breаking team rules recently.

Because the forward’s dad, Andrew, was photographed in Madrid picking up a Burger King order the night before the home match against Real Betis on Saturday. According to the Sun, Getafe boss Bordalas has tight restrictions in place preventing fast food for his players.

Given that he and his father were the sole occupants, it is reasonable to assume that one of the bags belonged to the one-time England star. A day before Getafe’s 1-1 tie with Real Betis, in which Greenwood played 78 minutes before being substituted, the images were allegedly shot.

The Sun reports that Bordalas routinely has his athletes weigh in so he can keep an eye on their body fаt percentages. However, it looks that Greenwood’s weekend prospects were unaffected by his sneaky burger run.

That’s presuming Greenwood is allowed special treatment or that his management was informed of the fast food raid. Both the head coach and the forward will be hoping this is an isolated incident rather than the start of a trend.

Greenwood scored his first goal for Getafe not long after completing a transfer to the club on Transfer Deadline Day. Just before the international break, the 22-year-old put his team up 2-1 against Celta Vigo. They ultimately settled for a draw.

The current La Liga 11th-place Getafe are looking to turn things around and secure their first top-half finish since 2020. Greenwood may play a significant role in this endeavor, while reducing consumption of fried foods may be more important.
