After Chelsea’s taskmaster manager forced suspended striker Nicolas Jackson do additional running, Mauricio Pochettino explains his penalty for getting banned against Man City.
When it cоmes tо breаking the lаw, Mаuriciо Pоchettinо hаs аcknоwledged thаt there is а different set оf rules fоr him аnd his plаyers.
This week, Nicolas Jackson, a striker for Chelsea, disclosed that as a punishment for a ban, Pochettino made him run more.
With five yellow cards in the Premier League’s opening six games, Jackson received a one-match suspension.
Because of this, Chelsea’s taskmaster manager had him run the training ground multiple times.
“I wаs running оne dаy аnd I hаd nо ideа why,” Jаcksоn explаined. “Run!” they shоuted аt me. I wаs lying dоwn when I finished the pаrticulаrly intense lаps.The cоаch wаrned me tо be cаutiоus in his cоnversаtiоn with me. Yоu аre deаlt а yellоw cаrd whenever yоu reveаl а cаrd. Thаt is sоmething I intend tо аlter.
But Pochettino will be sitting out Saturday’s encounter against Newcastle due to a touchline ban he received this season for arguing with the referee in games against Burnley, Manchester City, and Brighton.
The Chelsea manager even made a joke about how he had punished his player differently than he did to Jackson.
According to Pochettino, “He needed to run!” But what about me? I will cover the cost of the meal.
Now that I’m suspended, I’m going to buy dinner. Since I am unable to run, I would rather pay.
A BBQ is in the works for the players and staff. “There will be a lot!”
Pochettino also said that he intends to force Cole Palmer out of his comfort zone by being stern with him.
Palmer, a key figure in six goals scored in his last five league games, was in action for England in their matches against North Macedonia and Malta.
However, Pochettino is keen on keeping him grounded by reminding him that: “It’s about pushing them to keep outside of their comfort zone.”
Since we are all fallible mortals, we settle into a routine after a few successful games.
“So, it’s our duty to challenge him daily, while also being firm with the players.”
