Messi lost the match on his 8th Ballon d’Or showcase

David Beckham organized a friendly match for Lionel Messi to show off his 8th Golden Ball, but Inter Miami lost the match.

Inter Miami will not play until February of next year due to not being able to participate in the play-off round to compete for the championship of the American Professional League.

President David Beckham organized a friendly match with New York City to give Messi an opportunity to show off the Golden Ball he just won in Paris.

The friendly match was held at DRV PNK Stadium with a capacity of 21,000 people. In addition to the audience, the ceremony also welcomed many famous figures such as Jorge Mas, CEO and executive chairman of Inter Miami and MLS representative, Don Garber.

The Argentinian superstar raised the prestigious individual award in shimmering flash lights from across the stands. In his speech, Messi thanked the fans and announced that Inter Miami would play better next season.

Next, Messi will return to join the Argentina team to prepare for two matches in the South American World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Brazil, on November 17 and 22, respectively.
