Nearly 500 days on sidelines of Reece James’ injury record is a nightmare
Reece James has been sidelined for over two months, ever since sustaining an additional hamstring injury in August. It has been a considerable amount of time since the last time we saw him play.
Since his professional debut on August 4, 2018, Reece has been sidelined for a cumulative 472 days as a result of sixteen injuries and one instance of illness.
James has been sidelined from 90 games across all competitions. Interestingly, his only instance of injury avoidance occurred during his loan spell at Wigan for an entire season in 2018-19.
Considering James is an absolute beast when healthy, it is even more painful to observe him sidelined for so long.
It, however, is not just James involved. Chelsea is the most debilitated club among all Premier League teams, according to an examination of their injury logs. Regardless of whether it is due to poor luck or issues with the medical staff, the situation appears extremely concerning.
