Manchester City could sign Valentin Barco and loan him out in January

The Sun reports that Manchester City are preparing for a possible January transfer of Valentin Barco by making extensive preparations for the player. The Argentine is a target for Premier League winners Chelsea, who are eager to sign him. The club plans to loan the 19-year-old to Championship side Leicester City so he can receive experience.

As more English clubs show interest in the young talent emerging from South America, the market there has opened up significantly. Not only have Real Madrid and Barcelona thrown money into promising young players, but Chelsea has done the same.

Manchester City are already involved, having found a world-class player in Julian Alvarez in the past. In his maiden season away from South America, the Argentine has already won the World Cup and the treble. As they draw near Boca Juniors’ Valentin Barco, Pep Guardiola’s squad has shifted their focus to a different man.

Nearly matching Boca Juniors’ asking price for Barco, Manchester City is prepared to offer €15 million. Guardiola has singled out the 19-year-old as an appropriate target, and the club is already hatching elaborate schemes to work him into the starting lineup. They intend to loan him out to Leicester City, sometimes called the “finishing school,” first. The plan is to bring in Barco in January and give him six months to help Enzo Maresca get back into the Premier League with the Foxes.

This transaction would be beneficial for Maresca because of their history of working together with Guardiola. The Premier League club is targeting January to finalize the transaction. They would still prefer Barco to join Leicester in the summer so he can acquire some experience, even if the trade is postponed.

Chelsea are in the middle of Manchester City and Barco, and the 19-year-old is a major target for Chelsea’s management. The Boca Juniors star is only one of several South American youths whom the London club has maintained a close eye on.

Even though Boca Juniors lost to Fluminense, Barco had a solid game for several teams, including Chelsea and Manchester City. Although he performed admirably throughout the game, he may now be ready to take the plunge into the English league.

Barco, a player for Boca Juniors, is expected to join Manchester City in January. Their offer, including bonuses, is estimated to be approximately €15 million, making them the clear favorite.
