Lisandro Martinez will have to undergo a second metatarsal surgery and miss at least the next 3 months. The Argentine midfielder first had a bone problem in his foot in April 2023, against Sevilla in the Europa League and had to stay away from the field for 11 weeks.

 

Lisandro Martinez returned in the pre-season and played the first 4 rounds of the 2023/24 Premier League, before re-injuring himself.Things got worse from the away trip to Arsenal, Lisandro Martinez got hurt and was replaced at the end of the match.

The 2022 World Cup champion had to take painkillers to deal with injuries while playing against Brighton and Bayern Munich. However, the latest tests show that Lisandro Martinez’s foot bone from the previous surgery has not healed completely.

 

The 25-year-old midfielder will go on the operating table for the second time today to completely treat the existing injury. That leaves Lisandro Martinez out for at least the next 3 months and unable to return until early 2024.
