Rasmus Hojlund, a forward for Manchester United, has undoubtedly been a bright spot for the Red Devils despite missing the first month of the season due to injury
After making his debut as a substitute against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium, the Danish forward—who cost £64 million—has netted two goals for Erik ten Hag’s team. He joined the team from Atalanta.
Manchester United lost stunningly 3-2 to Turkish side Galatasaray, despite Rasmus Hojlund scoring for the Red Devils in yet another subpar showing.
For Ten Hag’s team, the 20-year-old has been a shining light in what has otherwise been a pretty dismal season.
Paul Scholes, a former United player, was all praise for the Danish forward following United’s match against the formidable Turkish team.
“He had a great start to the game,” Scholes observed. He absorbed it quite well because he is the kind of forward who feeds off crosses over the box.
“His second goal was fantastic as well; he has a hint of Ruud Van Nistelrooy.”
Hojlund’s influence
Although United has had a terrible start to the season and looks to be in ruins, the Danish attacker appears to be carrying the team and giving it his all. He is also the sole bright spot in what is undoubtedly an alarming and concerning decline from Ten Hag’s strong play last season.
