Conor Gallagher emerged as the match-winner, scoring the decisive goal in the dying moments. The result keeps Chelsea’s hopes of winning silverware alive as they progress to the quarter-finals, where they will face Leicester at home.

 

The game didn’t start well for Chelsea, as a defensive mix-up led to Leeds taking an early lead. The Blues struggled to handle Leeds’ high press, resulting in a poor pass from Axel Disasi to Moises Caicedo near the edge of the box. Leeds capitalized on the mistake, with Mateo Joseph finding the back of the net.

 

However, Caicedo quickly redeemed himself by combining with Noni Madueke and providing an assist to Nicolas Jackson, who scored skillfully from a difficult angle to equalize. Just before halftime, Mykhailo Mudryk extended Chelsea’s lead by converting a well-executed cross from Raheem Sterling.
