Rankings of Real Madrid players vs. Atletico Madrid: Revival Tragic Dani Carvajal saves the day Kepa Arrizabalaga is known for

As his side reached the final of the Supercopa de Espana, the right defender was involved in three of their four goals.

Dani Carvajal settled a mаd Madrid derby in the Supercopa de Espana semi-final with a goal, an assist, and a tantalizing pass for the third. Despite falling down at several stages in the game, Los Blancos were able to secure a 5-3 victory in extra time because to their relentless attacking play.

A well-known player set up Atleti’s first goal. Mario Hermoso, who was unmarked, headed a dangerous corner from Antoine Griezmann into the back of the net. Ten minutes later, in very similar circumstances, Antonio Rudiger equalized, meeting a Luka Modric corner to draw the teams level at 1-1.

Ferland Mendy’s skillful flip headed in Carvajal’s cross, and Los Blancos took the lead shortly after. Once again, Atleti had a solution as Griezmann went on a meandering run and slotted the ball past a sprawling Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Because the Rojiblancos dug in defensively and allowed Madrid to pile on the pressure, the second half was much rougher. Indeed, it produced the desired result. They scored a goal—albeit an unsightly one—thanks to Morata’s intervention, which caused Kepa to make a catastrophic error. Kepa punched a high cross into his own teammate, who then found the back of the net.

However, Carlo Ancelotti’s squad had a response once more. After a mаd dash into the Atletico penalty area, Carvajal calmly headed in a rebound. Plus, in regulation time, neither team managed to get a deciding fourth goal.

As the match came to a wild conclusion, the right back was in the middle of an insаne winner—his teaser ball dribbled past Joselu and loped in off the corner of a sprawling Stefan Savic. The madness was capped off with a late goal by Brahim Diaz, who finished into an empty net following Jan Oblak’s corner kιck. Madrid advanced to the Supercopa final.

Arrizabalaga Kepa (4/10):

Not much could be done to prevent Atleti from scoring in the first half. In the second, he made a huge gaffe by hitting his own player, giving Atletico the lead.

The Dani Carvajal (9/10):

In a beautiful cross, he set up Mendy for the score. Assisted in equalizing for Madrid with a third goal. He set up the game-winning fourth with his ball. He was also effective in his defensive duties. Seems like a new player born.

Rudiger, Antonio (6/10):

Restored parity with a pinpoint header, his second goal in a row. Unfortunately, Kepa was to blame, and we had to give Atleti the third goal.

Nacho scored a Six out of Ten.

I didn’t mess up too much and made sure the rear was neat.

(Ferland Mendy):

This was the first time I’d scored since the 2021–22 campaign. A steady change as he gets back into shape.

Tchouameni Aurelien (7/10):

An intimidating figure positioned near the middle of the field. When Griezmann scored, he was flipped inside out, which was his only major mistake.

The performance of Federico Valverde was satisfactory (7/10).

Had no problem keeping Atletico’s midfield off the board and provided enough of leg power in the middle of the field, which was crucial in the extra period. Not the only one who was a little careless in the last third.

Score of 6/10 for Luka Modric:

Pinged the ball around and assisted Rudiger’s goal. Utilized defensively, however. Appears fatigued upon removal.

Judson Bellingham (7 out of 10):

During the first half, he was subpar. A few of careless touches and missed passes. But by the end, it had greatly improved.

Score of 6 out of 10 for Rodrygo:

He was given the responsibility of identifying Hermoso on a corner, which he completely botched. The forward was active, but he hardly ever threatened the opposition with his attacks since he spent so much time diving.

On the sixth day of the month, Vincius Jr.:

Great and potentially harmful in open places, but lacks impact in critical ones. He lacked a final ball.
