Romelu Lukaku Says Saudi Pro League Could Be World’s Best Within Two Years And Admits He Is “Definitely” Interested In Being Part Of It
Romelu Lukaku asserted that in two years the Saudi Pro League might top all domestic soccer leagues worldwide.
Last year, Saudi teams signed players like as Sadio Mane, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Karim Benzema, Riyad Mahrez, and Neymar as a result of a statewide recruitment push.
In 2024, there will probably be more superstars added, with Lukaku maybe being one of them in the summer.
This week, Lukaku traveled to Saudi Arabia to represent Roma in a preseason friendly matchup against Al-Shabab.
All-time top scorer for Belgium, who is now on loan at Roma from Chelsea, won the match 2-1 in Riyadh with the game-winning goal.

After the game on Wednesday, Lukaku was asked about his opinions of the Saudi Pro League initiative by Riyadiya TV.
In response, he said, “In my opinion, it might rank among the top leagues in the world in the next two years, if not the greatest.
“They are currently making significant investments and adding more elite players to the league. The groups are becoming better. They are engaging in really high caliber football play. There are also excellent coaches.
Thus, I predict that they will rank among the top leagues in the world in the following two or three years. This is a really thrilling moment.
Lukaku was then asked by the journalist, “Maybe we will see you here in Saudi?” The striker answered with a smile, “Definitely.”
Lukaku is still bound to parent club Chelsea till 2026, although his loan agreement with Roma expires in June.
