Timo Werner is due to have his Tottenham medical on Tuesday after flying in from Red Bull Leipzig.
The 27-year-old will join on a six-month loan with a £14.5 million buyout option.

Spurs will be missing Son Heung-min for almost a month as he represents South Korea in the Asia Cup, while Alejo Veliz has a knee ιnjury and Saudi Arabia is interested in Richarlison, but that is unlikely to happen until the summer.Spurs have agreed to pay his £4.5 million salary for the remainder of the season.
Manchester United and Aston Villa are believed to have inquired about Werner’s availability, although talks with Tottenham escalated on Friday.Ashley Phillips, an 18-year-old defender for Tottenham Hotspur, has joined Plymouth Argyle on loan after Spurs signed him from Blackburn Rovers over the summer.
After signing from the Championship, the teenager signed a five-year contract worth roughly £2 million.
Phillips had a breakout season for Rovers last season in the Championship, appearing eight times and making six appearances across all competitions.
Over the last two years, the highly rated defender has also made multiple appearances for England at various juvenile levels.
